Industrial and Organisational Psychology

Currently the Department offers a provisionally accredited Masters programme from the NMMU,Port Elizabeth. This programme is aimed at equipping post-graduate students with theoretical, research, and applied competencies required by the local and international organisational contexts. The programme employs a wide range of teaching and learning methods that provide multiple opportunities for discussion, critical reflection, application, and supervised practice.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must hold an Honours degree in Industrial and Organisational Psychology (or an equivalent qualification) with a 60% aggregate pass. The curriculum of an equivalent qualification is subject to approval of the Head of Department, and must include a module study in Psychometrics or Psychological Assessment at NQF Level 8.

Application Process

Applicants are required to submit an application package and undergo a selection process. During the selection process applicants will be assessed by a panel which may restrict the number of applicants enrolled each year.

Please do not send your applications to only one of the recipients as it creates confusion regarding your application which may hinder when you receive feedack regarding your status.

 

Please note that the applications for 2018 Masters in Industrial and Organisational Psychology close October 31st 2017. There is no intake during 2018 for the 2018 programme as the slots have been filled.

Curriculum

The programme has been designed to accommodate both full-time and part-time students. It is offered on a block basis and requires students to be on campus for at least 10 weeks over a two-year period. The programme comprises eight compulsory modules and a 60-credit treatise.
